Help us celebrate forty years of enduro in Riverhead Forest.
Saturday December 6th 2014

Planning is well underway for the Waitemata MCC’s celebration of forty years of enduro competition in Riverhead Forest on December 6th. The first Virgin Swamps Enduro was held in 1974 and the WMCC has run events in the forest each year since.
To be run from the club’s base at the Old NZ Forest Service Headquarters, the inaugural Vinduro will be suitable for all ages of Vintage trail, enduro and VMX bikes. The programme will include static displays, an easy trail ride, and a much scaled down version of the classic Virgin Swamps Enduro. There will be camping, toilets and showers on site.
NO SWAMPS
Don’t be put off by the event’s title, there will be no Virgin Swamps to cross as the club’s regular trail ride loops will be used with all swamps bridged. Two routes will be available built around a basic easy trail ride track comprised of gravel roads, and moderate clay tracks. The course is all off road and includes forest sections run over the club’s regular trail ride tracks plus adjacent farmland.
CAMPING ON SITE
The fun begins Say morning when the campground opens and riders will be invited to wheel their bikes into the display area and put out period photos. The main programme happens on Saturday and will wind up on with a traditional VSE hooley that evening.
