VINDURO NZ REGULATIONS 2020-21 Season
A. VINDURO CONCEPT
Vinduro is a long course event run over unknown and in places challenging terrain. The entire course will be off road, no registration is required. Riders compete in two Grades on the basis of a handicap that allows for the technology of the bike and age of the rider. The older the bike or the rider the more handicap received. No individual classes will be run. The course is divided into several sections each given an allocated time. Special tests timed to the second are added to the score. The rider with the least points is the winner.
All events will be all off road and there are no requirements for lights, speedometer etc, MX type bikes are eligible. All bikes must be in safe condition with sound fuel system and effective muffling and must have a blank number space fitted to the front of the machine. It is asked, but not required that you fit a headlight to your bike, functioning or otherwise, in the spirit of Vinduro.
B. GRADES
To ensure entrants can find the right balance of challenge and satisfaction SILVER and GOLD, categories will be run. A handicap system classifies entrants within each grade according to the technology of machine ridden and age of the rider.
SILVER. This is the base course of 40-60 km of modest difficulty. Uphills to be limited in steepness and length, and obstacles confined to modest difficulty.
GOLD. The Gold course is the Silver course plus additional distance to make 60-80 km. Additional terrain may be added with a higher moderate level of difficulty in addition to the base route. Signage at deviations must be clear, preferably manned.
